About Jannelle Althoff
I knew from the first moment my teenage hands held a vintage film camera that my grandpa gave to me, that I was given a treasure that I could keep the rest of my life. It was the treasure of creativity, voice, and expression. That camera felt like an anchor through those turbulent teenage years, igniting a passion that still lives on today.
I went on to hone my skills in photography school and spent many hours in the dark room learning the art of film. Since then I have progressed to digital but will always have a soft spot for my first love, film.
My process is creative and natural and my style leans towards cinematic. I choose to shoot with natural lighting and in natural settings – no silly poses or studio lights for me! I think authenticity is beautiful and try to capture the true essence of a person. I shoot digital using pro Fuji gear.
